UP Tuition Fees

The University of the Philippines charges students based on their ability to pay. It uses a payment system called the Socialized Tuition and Financial Assistance Program (STFAP).

Students who can afford to pay the full costs of their studies at UP will pay the full costs while students who need financial assistance will get discounts depending on their STFAP application and submitted financial documents.

-- Students with annual family income of more than 1 million pesos will pay the full costs of tuition fees and miscellaneous and laboratory fees. (Bracket A)

-- Students with annual family income of more than half million up to 1 million pesos will pay the base tuition fee and full miscellaneous and laboratory fees.  (Bracket B)

-- 40% discount on base tuition fee, full miscellaneous and lab fees for students with annual family income of 250,001 to 500,000 pesos (Bracket C)

-- 70% discount on base tuition fee, full miscellaneous and lab fees for students with annual family income of 135,001 to 250,000 pesos (Bracket D)

-- Free tuition, miscellaneous and lab fees for students with annual family income of 80,001 to 135,000 pesos  (Bracket E1)

-- Free tuition, miscellaneous and lab fees plus stipend for students with annual family income of 80,000 pesos or less. Stipend is 12,000 pesos per semester. (Bracket E2)

UP Tuition fees per unit (UP Diliman, UP Los Banos and UP Manila) are:

-- 1,500 pesos per unit for Bracket A
-- 1,000 pesos per unit for Bracket B
-- 600 pesos per unit for Bracket C
-- 300 pesos per unit for Bracket D
-- Free tuition for Bracket E1 and E2

Miscellaneous fees = 2,000 pesos

* The STFAP bracket of every STFAP student is revised every year.
